Burt Barnes is a Native Texan from San Antonio who moved to New Braunfels in 2007. He and his wife welcomed their first child later that year. New Braunfels was a great fit for Burt and his family as it provided community and support.
Burt received his degree in Agriculture from Texas State University San Marcos at the age of 34. His background consist of everything from building power plants to remodeling residential homes. This is where he found his passion for real estate, and the joy of helping others.
Burt grew up in a deaf home. Both parents were born deaf, and his first language was American Sign Language. At a young age he would help communicate for his parents at the grocery store, clothing stores, car dealerships, doctor appointments and just about anywhere else you can imagine. As he grew older, he learned how people with disabilities can easily be taken advantage of. His experiences and observations have made him the caring and relatable person he is today.
Burt is involved in the New Braunfels community in many ways. He volunteers his time with his children’s swim team, he is a Cub master for his son’s Boy scout troop, and is also an active project leader in 4-H. Burt remains faithful to his agriculture roots by raising a small herd of grass fed cattle right here in New Braunfels. If you’re looking for someone that looks out for your best interest and for the interests of your family, Burt Barnes is your go - to guy!
